Modular Lamp System
The lamp consists of a ceramic base and glass top, which can be switched out for a side plate or different color. The lamp base is made from ground oysters which were crushed into clay and fired. For a different restaurant one could use pizza oven ash, eggshells or bone meal.
The table, plates, and lamp all interact with eachother. White reflective fishscales at the center of the table help bounce light onto menus and food, while the plates are interchangeable with the lamp top.
Multiple Light Conditions
Lighting in restaurants is often either too dark to read a menu, or too bright to allow for an intimate atmosphere. This table lamp solves for that by using bi-directional dimable light.
